My Story
Coffee County Law Enforcement / US Military / Local Business Owner
As an APOST Certified Officer, Scott has served as Captain of the Reserves since 2010 and in law enforcement for Coffee County since 1999.
Scott served in Project Life Save, the Aviation Unit and the Horse Posse unit for 12 years for Coffee County.
A veteran, Scott served in the United States Coast Guard and the Alabama National Guard.
A local business owner, Scott owns Southern Electric as a Certified Alabama Electrician.
Coffee County Native and Influences
Born and raised in Enterprise to Judy and Roy Byrd, Scott lives in the New Hope Community with his wife K.D. Byrd and two daughters. Growing up with his parents and grandparents, Willie Mae and Q.P. Jones and Carrie Bell and Edward Byrd, he learned the foundations of putting God first, working hard and putting others before himself.
Scott has spent his life in service to others, with 23 of those years in Coffee County law enforcement. If you know him, then you know that his word is his bond and his loyalty to protect and serve Coffee County is unwavering. He is uniquely qualified and committed to bring his trusted leadership and service to his fellow Coffee County citizens. As a community sheriff, Scott will serve his fellow citizens, the way it should be.
